Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shashlyk Lykmekov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 167 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Makebono Bowen!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lykmekov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bowen to the mat! Bowen manages to get full guard.
Bowen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lykmekov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Bowen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lykmekov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lykmekov advances to half guard.
Lykmekov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
It looks like Makebono Bowen has been cut.
Lykmekov looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That has opened up Makebono Bowen's cut even more.
Lykmekov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The cut above Makebono Bowen's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lykmekov gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Lykmekov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lykmekov dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Bowen has had enough and taps out.
