The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Machida throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stevensons's waist but Stevensons gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Machida off to one side.

Stevensons shoots and misses

and Machida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Machida.
Machida wants to pass the guard but Stevensons is keeping the position.
Stevensons can't keep his opponent in guard - Machida advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Machida in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Stevensons tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Machida!
