Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Menes Kai (ranked 3316 p4p, 2858 weight class) and Charles Lee (ranked 366 p4p, 332 weight class). Kai comes to the cage accompanied by The Astronaut - Jin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Menes Kai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Charles Lee!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lee tries to counter by closing the distance.
Kai throws the left hand but Lee avoids the punch easily.
No joy there for Kai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Kai.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lee takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Kai tries to throw a body punch but Lee avoids it by throwing Kai back against the cage.

Kai is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kai wants to stand and escape but instead Lee has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Menes Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Kai takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Lee closes the distance and pushes Kai back into the cage.

Kai wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lee's closed guard. He's half up but Lee has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lee pivots and extends the arm, Kai falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lee! Well done that man!

After the fight, Charles Lee was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
