Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuo Shima (ranked 1013 p4p, 1060 weight class) and Micah Frank (ranked 142 p4p, 147 weight class). Shima's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micah Frank!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank connects with the punch.
Shima moves out of range of the body kick from Frank.
Frank swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A quick step to the side and Shima tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Frank lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shima's sensitive parts.
Frank cracks Shima with an open hand slap.
Frank tests Shima's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Frank takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A thudding body kick lands there by Frank!
Shima checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Frank throws a looping overhand right but Shima ducks down to avoid it.

Frank throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shima throws a right hand that Frank ducks under and follows up with a left that Frank also avoids with ease.
Frank slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Frank is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

and Shima counters with a series of strikes. Frank will be more careful next time no doubt.

Micah Frank is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shima ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Frank moves away.
Shima tries for a takedown but Frank sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shima will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Frank works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Shima misses with a double jab
and Frank counters with a right hand to the body.
Frank throws a half hearted mid kick.

enabling Frank to counter with a crisp jab.
Shima does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Frank looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Shima takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Shima tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shima ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Frank lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Shima backwards.

Frank pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shima takes a swing at Frank's ribcage but misses.
Shima slips under a jab.

Shima moves into the clinch successfully.
Frank displaying some good clinch control by pressing Shima up against the cage.
Frank lands with a short shot to the head.
Shima is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Shima can't get the takedown.

Frank can't find room to land a body shot as Shima controls the action.

Frank breaks the clinch.
Frank throws out a leg kick but Shima moves out of range and Frank only half commits.
Shima misses with the combination.
Frank throws a sloppy head kick and Shima moves out of range easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Micah Frank dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Frank fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shima manages to avoid it.

It seemed like Frank was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Shima throws a left and a right that both miss
and Frank counters with a nice leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shima crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Frank - the referee stops the clock and Shima gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Frank. Shima manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shima takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Shima was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Tetsuo Shima is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Frank fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shima looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Frank has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Shima throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
As Shima backs off Frank throws a huge counter combo but Shima manages to avoid it all.

Frank lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Shima catches Frank with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Frank throws a big counter head kick but Shima avoids it with no problem.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Shima looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frank is fending him off so far but Shima persists. Nope, Frank circles away and we're back to standing.

Shima lands a left and a right that send Frank crashing to the mat, dazed. Shima thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Frank is rocked!

Micah Frank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Frank winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
