Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dodge Schotel (ranked 2174 p4p, 3117 weight class) and RaeRae Usman (ranked 294 p4p, 394 weight class). Schotel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Inner Circle - Games People Play. Usman has chosen Yaba Buluku as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dodge Schotel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, RaeRae Usman! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schotel throws a sloppy head kick and Usman moves out of range easily. RaeRae Usman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Usman looks to score with a jab to the body but Schotel is just out of range. Schotel feinted with a counter takedown. Schotel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Usman counters with a stiff right hand. Usman has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Schotel lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Schotel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Usman. Usman lands with a good body shot. Schotel tries to close the distance and clinch but Usman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Schotel throws a head kick that half lands.
A good leg kick by Schotel. A leg kick checked by Usman. Schotel wants to clinch. A countering left hand to the body from Usman misses. Usman scores with a hook to the body. Schotel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schotel tries to work over Usman's front leg with a kick but Usman checks it. Schotel tries to bum rush Usman with a series of wild strikes but Usman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Schotel lands with a thumping leg kick.
Usman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Schotel counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Nice defenses there by Schotel. Schotel tries for a takedown but Usman circles away easily and Usman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Usman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. We've been told by Schotel's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Schotel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A jab from Schotel misses. Usman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Schotel.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schotel fails to land with a series of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action! A jab lands there for Schotel. Usman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Schotel tries to close the distance and clinch but Usman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A lazy left from Usman finds it's target. Usman throws a head kick that Schotel semi-blocks.
Schotel misses with a wild combination.
Usman throws a looping overhand right but Schotel ducks down to avoid it. Schotel closes the distance looking to clinch and Usman counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schotel throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Usman jabs at Schotel's body. Schotel wants to clinch. Schotel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Usman on the wrong end of a nice hook. Nice defenses there by Usman. Usman throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Schotel lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Schotel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Usman. Schotel drops down looking for a counter takedown but Usman sprawls and moves away. Usman finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Schotel's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Usman falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dodge Schotel! Dodge Schotel decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. RaeRae Usman spoke after the fight, saying 'I'd like to thank my opponent for helping me to train harder than I ever had before. I'll be back, and ready to fight again soon!'.
