PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Yamasaki (ranked 2250 p4p, 2749 weight class) and Gordon Jones (ranked 81 p4p, 104 weight class). Yamasaki's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 2Pac - The Warriors Way. Mario Yamasaki is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Well, with Jones on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Yamasaki is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A bit of a pause in the action here. Jones controlling the positon. Yamasaki definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jones is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Yamasaki is defending well though. Jones let's go of the attempt for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking to break Yamasaki's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Yamasaki remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jones will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! You can see the frustration on Yamasaki's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Jones is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Yamasaki with him. Yamasaki is trying to defend but Jones has an arm under the chin now! Yamasaki grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gordon Jones! Gordon Jones is the new super heavyweight champion!
