Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Yamazaki (ranked 4258 p4p, 4135 weight class) and Takashi Morimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takashi Morimoto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Yamazaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Morimoto!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamazaki lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Yamazaki jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Morimoto shoots in looking for a takedown. Yamazaki tries to sprawl out of it but Morimoto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yamazaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Morimoto goes for a double leg but Yamazaki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yamazaki continues to drive forward.
Morimoto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kenji Yamazaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takashi Morimoto.
Morimoto tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yamazaki defends well and Morimoto ends up having to push Yamazaki into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Morimoto shoots in for a double leg but Yamazaki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Morimoto fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yamazaki to the ground. Morimoto is now in Yamazaki's guard.
Morimoto is looking to work some ground and pound but Yamazaki has wrist control.
Morimoto is standing up over Yamazaki. Yamazaki looks to escape but Morimoto dives into side control.
Morimoto in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Morimoto lands a nice forearm strike.
Morimoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Morimoto tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morimoto scores with punches from side control.
Morimoto is working Yamazaki over with some ground and pound from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yamazaki is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The ground and pound from Morimoto seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Yamazaki takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Yamazaki is rocked!

Oh Yamazaki is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Morimoto lands a strong strike to the head of Yamazaki. That's dazed him! Morimoto looking to finish here. Yamazaki is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Morimoto lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takashi Morimoto!
