Mendy has closed the distance and engaged Mesquita in a clinch.
Mendy wants a takedown but no success here.
Mesquita has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mendy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Mendy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mesquita pulls Mendy into guard.
Mendy wants to control from the top but Mesquita keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mesquita working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mendy is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mesquita has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Mendy is looking to defend but Mesquita has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Mendy! Mesquita pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Mendy taps out and this one is all over!
