Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Montanha Silva (ranked 4345 p4p, 4350 weight class) and Vladmir Krouss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Silva misses
and Krouss counters with a three punch combo that has Silva backing up. Silva nods at Krouss to acknowledge the strikes.
Krouss slips under a jab from Silva.
Krouss is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Silva tries for a takedown but Krouss sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Krouss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Krouss fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Silva drops down looking for a counter takedown but Krouss sprawls and moves away.

and Krouss counters by moving into the clinch.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Krouss pulls Silva into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva gets to his feet. Krouss looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Silva clinches up with Krouss and pushes him back against the cage.

Silva breaks from the clinch.

Krouss fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Krouss is now in Silva's guard.

Silva has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Krouss is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Krouss is looking to take this one to the mat.

Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Krouss is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Silva looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.

Krouss is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

I really don't envy Silva right now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Krouss is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Silva has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Krouss tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Krouss to the ground. Krouss escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
