Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Gary (ranked 4095 p4p, 4285 weight class) and Rohan Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ian Gary! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rohan Montgomery! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gary fails with an attempt to clinch.
Montgomery lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gary looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Montgomery is fending him off so far but Gary persists. Nope, Montgomery circles away and we're back to standing. Montgomery fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gary sprawls well initially but Montgomery persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gary is looking to escape. Montgomery blocks the strikes from Gary.
Montgomery controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montgomery is thwarting Gary's attempts to control the position. Montgomery scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gary is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Montgomery scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gary is rocked! Montgomery slows the pace down in half guard. Montgomery is trying to work for a kimura but Gary is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Montgomery stands up and beckons Gary to join him on the feet. Montgomery throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Montgomery closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gary pushes Montgomery off but Montgomery dives into side control.
Montgomery controlling from side mount. Montgomery advances to full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montgomery raining down shots from the mount! Montgomery is in the full mount, landing strikes. Oh Gary is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Montgomery content just to control the position here. Gary seems to have got his legs back now. Montgomery drops a big elbow. That's hurt Gary! More shots from Montgomery and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rohan Montgomery!
