Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between BJ Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keegan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Cant be touched as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keegan Smith!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a body shot.
Maxwell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Maxwell persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.
Maxwell fails with the takedown.
Maxwell takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Maxwell takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Smith pushes Maxwell up against the cage in a clinch.
Maxwell tries for a takedown but Smith manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Maxwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Maxwell wants a takedown but no success here.
Smith is pressed up against the cage. Maxwell has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smith down to the mat. Smith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smith fails to land with a series of punches.

Maxwell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Smith is trying to keep an underhook but Maxwell manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Smith pushes Maxwell off looking to stand but Maxwell dives back in and keeps control.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maxwell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Maxwell is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.
Maxwell prevents Smith from standing back up.
Maxwell missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Smith pushes Maxwell off looking to stand but Maxwell dives back in and keeps control.
Maxwell works his way into side control.
Maxwell moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Smith wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith regains half guard there - taking advantage of Maxwell's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Maxwell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maxwell is taking a breather. Smith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Smith is trying to stand back up but Maxwell is controlling him
Maxwell moves nicely into side control.
Smith is not content to let Maxwell control the position.
Smith explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maxwell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith gets a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Maxwell's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Maxwell can't get the takedown.
Maxwell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Maxwell tries for a takedown but Smith manages to get underhooks.
Maxwell lands an elbow inside.
Maxwell fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smith breaks from the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Maxwell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Maxwell looking to ground and pound but Smith is blocking nicely.
Smith is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Keegan Smith dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Smith wants to clinch.
Maxwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maxwell off to one side.
Smith gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Maxwell or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad.

The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Maxwell scores a takedown into full mount!
Maxwell is landing with some decent strikes but Smith is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Maxwell wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely.

Maxwell misses with a head shot.
Smith is trying to stand.
Smith bucks up and throws Maxwell to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Smith clinches with his opponent.
Smith breaks from the clinch.
Maxwell shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Maxwell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Keegan Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a leg kick but Maxwell checks it.

Smith scores with a punch to the head.
Maxwell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Maxwell closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Maxwell pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Maxwell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Maxwell takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Maxwell shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Smith lands an elbow that stopped Maxwell in his tracks for a moment.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith clinches up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maxwell is trying to drag Smith to the mat but Smith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith manages to break the clinch.
Keegan Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smith darts in and clinches Maxwell up against the cage.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Maxwell tries to clinch
and Smith counters with a body kick that stops Maxwell in his tracks momentarily.
Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Smith throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Maxwell stumbling backwards into the cage! Maxwell bounces back off the cage towards Smith, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Smith lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Smith celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
