Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Gary (ranked 4982 p4p, 3516 weight class) and Ayden Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ian Gary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ayden Morris!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris shoots and misses
and Gary counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gary dives in for a single leg takedown but Morris sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Gary breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morris throws a quick inside leg kick.
Gary wants to clinch up but Morris keeps it at a distance.

Gary gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gary manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Gary fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Gary ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gary no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Morris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Morris trying to control but Gary is working from the bottom.
Gary is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gary is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Morris presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Morris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morris looks to land a right hand but Gary moved out of range.
Gary appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Morris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gary shoots in looking for a takedown. Morris tries to sprawl out of it but Gary keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian Gary. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gary shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morris as he jumps to the side.
Gary wants to clinch.

and Morris counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gary!
Gary is breathing heavily.

Morris working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gary really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gary dodges the ground and pound from Morris.

You can see the frustration on Gary's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gary is looking to regain half guard here but Morris keeps moving and retains side control.
Morris is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gary will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Morris is looking to take a break and control but Gary is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gary taking punishment in the form of punches.

Morris tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Morris decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gary to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ayden Morris will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gary tries to land a front kick but Morris steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Morris scores with a jab to the body.
Gary shoots in for a takedown but Morris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gary throws a sloppy head kick and Morris moves out of range easily.
Morris steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Gary.

Gary gets caught napping as Morris dives in and scores a takedown. Gary manages to retain guard.
Gary doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gary tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morris controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Morris passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Gary tries to bench press Morris off him but Morris keeps the position.

Morris decides to stand back up.

Morris is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gary is defending well.
Gary has Morris pressed against the cage.

Morris lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Gary wants to stand back up but Morris manages to pass into side control.

Morris decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gary to his feet.
Gary gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Morris.

Morris shoots in and bounces Gary off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gary keeping moving, preventing Morris from controlling successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gary is on top in guard.

Gary is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gary looking to sit in guard and control but Morris gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gary trying to keep a closed guard but Morris is proving a slippery customer.
Gary bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morris's guard.


Morris wriggles free and stands up.
Morris misses with a straight left.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morris shoots for a double leg takedown but Gary sprawls well. He's pushed Morris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ayden Morris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gary.
Gary tries for a takedown but Morris sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gary circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gary tries to score a power double leg takedown but Morris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gary somewhat.

Morris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gary with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Morris takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Morris looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Gary wants to control but Morris is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gary tries to get to full guard but Morris has control of the leg.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gary dives in and grabs Morris's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morris pushes down on Gary's head and hops out.
Morris avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Morris unleashes a big counter combination but Gary bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Morris looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gary!
Gary is looking for a sweep.
Gary struggling a bit here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gary gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Morris wants to control the pace but Gary is squirming around nicely.
Ian Gary has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ayden Morris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gary throwing hammer fists to the chest of Morris. What's that going to do exactly?

Ayden Morris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Morris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
