Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Duterte (ranked 3819 p4p, 3405 weight class) and Bunny Anstey (ranked 430 p4p, 393 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodrigo Duterte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bunny Anstey! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duterte forces Anstey back against the cage and clinches. Duterte tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duterte lands a good knee to the midsection. Anstey won't want to take too many of those. Duterte works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

That's one minute gone in the round. Anstey is trying to pull guard but Duterte has him pressed against the cage. Rodrigo Duterte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bunny Anstey. Duterte lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Duterte throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ansteys head. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Anstey has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Anstey tries to pull guard but Duterte holds him up against the cage and eventually Anstey drops back down to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duterte makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Anstey prevents a body shot from Duterte. Duterte trying to land knees to the body.

Anstey pulls guard effortlessly. Duterte trying to control the position from guard on top but Anstey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duterte throwing strikes from guard but Anstey blocks nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anstey keeping moving, preventing Duterte from controlling successfully. Anstey controlling the position. Duterte postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Anstey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Duterte, into his guard.
Duterte is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Anstey has his hands clasped together but Duterte extends and breaks Anstey's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Duterte.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rodrigo Duterte! Rodrigo Duterte decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
