The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demuss lands with a kick to the temple. Ali'i shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Demuss throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ali'i.
Ali'i throwing a counter right hand but Demuss manages to avoid it.
Ali'i connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Demuss's hands.
 It looks like Jake Demuss has been cut.
A jab from Demuss misses.
Ali'i lands a jab.
Ali'i throws a body punch but Demuss moves out of range.
Ali'i is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Demuss.
Demuss slips a straight right by Ali'i.
Demuss looks for the body kick but Ali'i saw that one coming.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Demuss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ali'i throws a jab but it's blocked by Demuss.
Demuss throws out a counter right but Ali'i avoids it with no problem.
Ali'i misses with an uppercut. Demuss saw that one coming.

Ali'i looks to land a combination but Demuss avoids it well.

Demuss is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ali'i with a body shot.
Demuss moves out of range as Ali'i strikes.
Demuss tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Ali'i manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ali'i gets through Demuss's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Ali'i lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Demuss backwards.
Demuss throws a punch but it's blocked by Ali'i.
Demuss prevents a body shot from Ali'i.
Demuss escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ali'i throws a big shot that misses.
A little jabbing left from Demuss on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Demuss jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ali'i tried to counter with a leg kick but Demuss avoided it.
Ali'i looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ali'i misses with a straight left.
Ali'i misses with a right hand
and Demuss counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ali'i lands with a nice body kick.
Demuss looks winded!
Ali'i misses with a low kick.
Demuss tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ali'i was well out of range. Poor timing from Demuss.
Demuss uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ali'i.
Demuss tries to counter with a clinch but Ali'i shakes him off and moves away.
Ali'i misses with a looping left.
Ali'i shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kekoa Ali'i dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jake Demuss's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A looping hook to the body misses from Ali'i. Demuss does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kekoa Ali'i is winning the standup battle so far.
Ali'i lands a nice leg kick that just misses Demuss's sensitive parts.
Demuss tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ali'i throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Demuss has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ali'i finds it's way round the side to connect with Demuss's head.
Demuss is still on wobbly legs! Can Ali'i finish him?
Demuss swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ali'i connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Demuss's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Demuss - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Kekoa Ali'i!
A less than humble Kekoa Ali'i misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities. |
