Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Alcaras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trevor Potter!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Alcaras throws a body punch but Potter moves out of range.
Carlos Alcaras seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alcaras circles away from the clinch attempt.
Potter shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A slow jab from Alcaras misses its intended target.
Potter is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Alcaras misses with a straight right.
Potter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Alcaras throws a hook but Potter avoids it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alcaras. Potter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alcaras scores with a hook to the body. Potter takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Alcaras misses with a wild body shot.
Alcaras leaves Potter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Potter takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Potter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A left lands for Alcaras.
It looks like Trevor Potter has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Potter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Potter misses with a looping left.
Alcaras lands a jab.
Potter is rocked!
Potter goes for a double leg but Alcaras avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Alcaras continues to drive forward.
Alcaras is looking to counter the offense by Potter and move into the clinch.
Carlos Alcaras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Potter.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Potter looks winded!
Potter missing with a left hand there. Alcaras was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Potter doesn't manage to clinch there - Alcaras circles away.
and Alcaras counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Potter! He's just covering up as Alcaras starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Alcaras!
A relieved looking Carlos Alcaras thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
