Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 23960 p4p, 23982 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 36 - 8, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 33 - 31 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mibangon stuffs the takedown. And Mibangon counters with a quick kick to the body but Buut blocks it. Mibangon shoots in looking for a takedown. Buut tries to sprawl out of it but Mibangon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Buut manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown attempt by Mibangon or perhaps it was just good defense by Buut, which made it look bad. Buut appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mibangon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mibangon lands in his opponent's guard. Mibangon content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buut pulls Mibangon in close to prevent any damage. Mibangon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Buut is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut has control of Mibangon's left arm, preventing Mibangon from doing any damage. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Mibangon fails with a takedown attempt. And Buut responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minatay Mibangon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mibangon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mibangon lands in his opponent's guard. Mibangon postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Minatay Mibangon dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Buut shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Buut is stalling in the full guard. Mibangon has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut controls from within his opponent's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mibangon holds on and takes a little breather. Buut stopping the sweep attempt from Mibangon. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Buut trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Buut closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mibangon circles away. Mibangon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Mibangon shoots in for a takedown but Buut shows good takedown defense. Buut is trying to counter with his kicks. Buut fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mibangon to the ground. Buut is now in Mibangon's guard. Buut is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mibangon is pulling down on Buut's head. It's preventing any offense from Buut, at least for the moment. Buut looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Buut stopping the sweep attempt from Mibangon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buut is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mibangon controlling Buut's posture.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut misses with an attempted mid kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Walay Buut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Buut shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mibangon sprawls well. Mibangon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Buut gets slowly back to his feet. Mibangon goes for a double leg but Buut avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Buut continues to drive forward. Buut steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mibangon wants the takedown. Buut is fighting it off but Mibangon persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Buut's guard against the cage. Mibangon is standing up over Buut. Buut looks to escape but Mibangon dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Minatay Mibangon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Buut tries to improve position but can't. Mibangon controlling the position from side mount. Mibangon trying to control the action but Buut is working from the bottom. Buut is looking to regain half guard here but Mibangon keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Buut is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mibangon trying to control the position but Buut is working away. Buut is trying to control Mibangon's posture but Mibangon avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mibangon happy to just control the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Buut shoots in but no luck this time. Mibangon jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Mibangon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Buut swivels and escapes. Buut counters with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Buut lands with a nice body kick. Mibangon shoots in for a takedown but Buut shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. And Buut responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minatay Mibangon. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Buut is defended easily by Mibangon.
And that's the end of the fight! Minatay Mibangon showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mibangon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
