Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lom Ali Maskhadov (ranked 3725 p4p, 4214 weight class) and Slade Vaughan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lom Ali Maskhadov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Slade Vaughan!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maskhadov is looking to clinch.
Maskhadov doesn't manage to clinch there - Vaughan circles away.

Maskhadov clinches up with Vaughan and pushes him back against the cage.
Maskhadov tries to pull guard but Vaughan holds him up against the cage and eventually Maskhadov drops back down to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lom Ali Maskhadov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maskhadov pulls Vaughan into guard.

Maskhadov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vaughan defends it easily.
Vaughan chips away with some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vaughan cracks Maskhadov with a solid left hand.

Maskhadov has his foot on Vaughan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vaughan works his way back into a safe position though.

Vaughan is looking to work some ground and pound but Maskhadov has wrist control.

Vaughan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maskhadov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vaughan has managed to get both his arms back between Maskhadov's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vaughan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maskhadov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maskhadov is in trouble now - Vaughan has advanced to mount!
Maskhadov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

BOOM! Vaughan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Maskhadov wants to hold on but Vaughan pushes him away.
Vaughan pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Vaughan wants to control the pace but Maskhadov is squirming around nicely.
Vaughan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Vaughan scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Maskhadov?

Maskhadov is rocked!
Vaughan punishing his opponent with strikes.
Oh Maskhadov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vaughan is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Maskhadov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Vaughan with the ground and pound from mount.
Maskhadov tries to lock up and control but Vaughan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Maskhadov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vaughan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Vaughan scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Vaughan lands a heavy elbow.

Vaughan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Maskhadov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Vaughan lands a heavy elbow.
Vaughan loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Maskhadov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Vaughan land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Vaughan stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slade Vaughan!
