Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darbo Abott (ranked 5802 p4p, 3931 weight class) and Tiny Tim Thackerley (ranked 319 p4p, 167 weight class). Abott comes to the cage accompanied by That Smell. Darbo Abott had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darbo Abott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tiny Tim Thackerley! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thackerley misses with a straight left. Abott moves out of range of the strikes. Abott feinted with a counter takedown. Abott avoids the body shot from Thackerley.
Abott appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Thackerley cracks Abott with a good jab. Good standup being displayed there by Thackerley as he connects with a hook. Thackerley scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Thackerley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Abott takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A big left from Thackerley misses. Abott half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Thackerley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Thackerley jabbing away but nothing is landing. Abott definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Thackerley misses with an uppercut. Abott changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Abott ducks right into an uppercut from Thackerley. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thackerley lands with a right hand. Thackerley throws a body punch but Abott moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Thackerley lands an impressive looking overhand right. Abott doesn't seem phased though. Thackerley scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Thackerley misses with a lunging right hand
and Abott counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Thackerley! Abott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thackerley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Abott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thackerley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Thackerley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Abott fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Thackerley taking a bit of punishment here - Abott scoring with strikes. Abott is staying tight to Thackerley's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abott working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The ground and pound from Abott seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thackerley can do anything to dispel that myth. An elbow from Abott crashes against the mat.
Abott lands a few punches from side control. Abott is trying to get an arm triangle but Thackerley is defending well. Abott sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Thackerley is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Abott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thackerley keeps working. Abott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Abott is really struggling to control Thackerley but he's trying to hold on to the position. Abott throws an elbow but Thackerley slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abott staying calm. Check out the look on Abott's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The referee asks Abott politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Abott prefers to stall for the moment though. Thackerley takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Abott working the body and head with strikes. Thackerley avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Abott. Abott scoring with punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Abott sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Thackerley is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
A lull in the action here as Abott stalls from top position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Abott advances to full mount. Abott lands with some strikes. Abott putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Thackerley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Thackerley takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Abott pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Abott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Abott working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Thackerley is rocked! Abott lands a couple of good shots and Thackerley has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Thackerley is still in real trouble! Can Abott finish him?
That's five minutes gone in the round. Can Thackerley hold on?! Abott is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Abott is raining down hard shots and and Thackerley has had enough - he's tapped out due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Darbo Abott! Darbo Abott bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
