PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Koobley Kon (ranked 5425 p4p, 25102 weight class) and Fatty Fokker (ranked 289 p4p, 335 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koobley Kon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fatty Fokker! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A bone on bone clash there as Kon blocks the leg kick.
Fokker drives through with a takedown into Kon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fokker on the ground. Fokker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fokker passes into half guard. Kon won't allow Fokker to pass to mount. Fokker trying to control the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. It looks like Fokker might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Kon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fokker uses his free foot to push down on Kon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kon. Fokker throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Fokker content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fokker is continuing to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Fokker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've been informed that Fokker has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Fokker has eaten all the pies!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fokker is trying to take his opponent's back.
Fokker controlling the position easily from mount. Kon is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Fokker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kon looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Kon trying desperately to get to his feet.
Fokker looking to control and managing it successfully. Kon has given up his back here. Will Fokker look for the submission or keep pounding away?
That's six minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fokker just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Fokker is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Kon won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Fokker off his unconscious opponent!
