Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Addiel Glez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aaron Nevemore! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nevemore lands a big head kick that sends Glez tumbling to the mat! Nevemore takes a step backwards and waves Glez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Addiel Glez has been cut. Nevemore throws a head kick that misses and Glez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Glez. This has been an exciting period of action! Nevemore keeping full guard, as Glez tries to pass. Glez won't allow Nevemore to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nevemore is keeping the position for now. Nevemore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Glez tries to counter with a takedown but Nevemore is quick to defend against it. Glez tried to score with a low kick but Nevemore checks it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nevemore wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Nevemore wants to control but Glez postures up. Glez tries to move to mount but Nevemore blocks the move with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Glez has knee on belly and moves into mount. Glez working for a guillotine from mount but Nevemore is in no mood to give up. Nevemore's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Glez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Nevemore is on top in guard.
Nevemore wants to get up but he can't break Glez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Glez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nevemore being controlled here momentarily. Glez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Glez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nevemore. Glez fails with an attempt to clinch.
A head kick misses from Nevemore. Nevemore dips to his left and cracks Glez with an uppercut! Nevemore tries a head kick but it misses.
Glez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Nevemore lands a head kick. Glez smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Glez is rocked! Glez tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Oh Glez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Nevemore! Glez is out on his feet! Nevemore rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Glez is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Glez is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
