Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Williams (ranked 4156 p4p, 4155 weight class) and Evgeni Makhachev (ranked 486 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evgeni Makhachev!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makhachev fails with the takedown.
Williams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Williams works over Makhachev with some ground and pound from guard.
Makhachev tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams gets to his feet - Makhachev follows without any prompting.
Makhachev shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Makhachev shoots in looking for a takedown. Williams tries to sprawl out of it but Makhachev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Williams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Alex Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evgeni Makhachev.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams drives through with a takedown into Makhachev's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Makhachev wants to get back to his feet but Williams passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams not doing much here.
Makhachev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams passes to full mount!
Williams cracks Makhachev with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Makhachev looks winded!
Williams unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Makhachev wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Williams celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Williams!
