Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Erick Klein (ranked 4124 p4p, 24912 weight class) and Alexander Matveychuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Matveychuk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erick Klein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Matveychuk !
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matveychuk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Klein.
Klein feinted with a counter takedown.
Matveychuk cracks Klein with a good jab.
Klein shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Matveychuk manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Klein keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Matveychuk lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matveychuk ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Matveychuk no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Matveychuk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Klein stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matveychuk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Matveychuk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Klein advances to half guard.
Matveychuk is looking for a sweep. Klein is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Matveychuk wants to control the action here but instead Klein manages to pass to full mount!
Matveychuk is desperately trying to improve his position but Klein has a good base and remains in mount.
Klein throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Matveychuk because Klein loaded up on that one.

Matveychuk is trying to stand.
Klein looking to secure an arm triangle but Matveychuk defends it well.
Klein tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Klein gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Matveychuk fails with the takedown.
Matveychuk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Klein is fending him off so far but Matveychuk persists. Nope, Klein circles away and we're back to standing.

and Klein counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Klein.

Klein gets to his feet. Matveychuk looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Matveychuk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Klein swivels and escapes.
Erick Klein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Matveychuk .

Klein has Matveychuk up against the cage in a clinch.
Matveychuk looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Matveychuk is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Klein is defending well.
Klein prevents Matveychuk from breaking the clinch.
Klein is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Klein turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Klein manages to end up in side control.
Matveychuk sneaks out the side door and pushes Klein away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Klein stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Klein wants it to stay on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Erick Klein will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Matveychuk misses with a double jab.
Klein lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matveychuk is defended easily by Klein.
Matveychuk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Klein swivels and escapes.
Klein circles away from the clinch attempt.
Matveychuk closes the distance and pushes Klein back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Klein gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Klein is working for a kimura here but Matveychuk manages to reverse the position and he's now in Klein's guard.
Klein has his foot on Matveychuk 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matveychuk works his way back into a safe position though.

Erick Klein overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Matveychuk stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Klein throws up his legs and catches Matveychuk in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Matveychuk tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Klein! That came out of nowhere!
