PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wendall Arnold (ranked 1958 p4p, 2478 weight class) and James Parker (ranked 232 p4p, 293 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Wendall Arnold has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Wendall Arnold seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arnold closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Parker's guard.

Parker has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Arnold is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Parker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arnold's waist but Arnold gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Parker off to one side.

Parker pushes off an throws an elbow but Arnold leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Parker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Arnold throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Parker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Arnold is in Parker's guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Arnold's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round but I would say that Wendall Arnold will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Arnold shoots in for a double leg but Parker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Arnold gets caught napping as Parker dives in and scores a takedown. Arnold manages to retain guard.

Arnold manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Parker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Parker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Parker manages to end up in side control.

Arnold sneaks out the side door and pushes Parker away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Parker has closed the distance and engaged Arnold in a clinch.

Parker has hold of one of Arnold's legs. Arnold is fighting the takedown attempt but Parker gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
