Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Rodriguez (ranked 4212 p4p, 4214 weight class) and Lucas Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucas Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Kane! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rodriguez but Rodriguez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rodriguez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rodriguez is defended easily by Kane. Kane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rodriguez is trying is best to control the position here. Rodriguez won't allow Kane to pass to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodriguez is positioning himself well to prevent Kane advancing to mount. Rodriguez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rodriguez.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane passes into half guard. Kane is trying to work for a kimura but Rodriguez is defending well.
Kane wants to free his trapped foot but Rodriguez is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kane is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rodriguez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rodriguez looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rodriguez desperately trying to maintain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kane performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Rodriguez keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kane shoots for a takedown but Rodriguez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rodriguez attempts a counter takedown but Kane avoids it well and moves away. Rodriguez closes the distance and pushes Kane back into the cage. Kane wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Rodriguez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kane tries to close the distance and clinch but Rodriguez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kane closes the distance and clinches. Rodriguez wants a takedown but no success here.

Kane is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Rodriguez keeping moving, preventing Kane from controlling successfully. Rodriguez seems keen to control Kane's posture. That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Rodriguez will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Rodriguez dives in for a single leg takedown but Kane sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Rodriguez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rodriguez lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kane gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rodriguez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Rodriguez jumps guard but Kane turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. The referee calls for Rodriguez to work.

Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodriguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kane wants to get back to full guard. Rodriguez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rodriguez is looking to advance position but Kane won't allow it.

Kane has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rodriguez after a bit of a struggle. Kane fails to pull guard.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rodriguez walks away with a smile on his face. Kane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rodriguez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kane avoids it really well and circles away. Kane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kane misses with a hook. Rodriguez clinches with his opponent.

Rodriguez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rodriguez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Kane wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving. Rodriguez pulls Kane in close to prevent any damage. Rodriguez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kane is aware though and is defending well. Rodriguez wants to sweep but no luck. Kane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kane is looking to stand up but Rodriguez won't let him.

Rodriguez clinches up with Kane and pushes him back against the cage. Lucas Rodriguez has scored more points in the clinch so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kane swings wildly with an uppercut but Rodriguez uses good head movement to avoid it. Kane is looking to break free of the clinch but Rodriguez has double underhooks.
And that's the end of the fight! Lucas Rodriguez showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rodriguez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
