The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Buut shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mibangon pinned against the cage. Mibangon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mibangon half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mibangon is looking to land body kicks.
Buut is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buut shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mibangon is trying to defend but Buut finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Buut throws a big counter head kick but Mibangon avoids it with no problem.
Mibangon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Buut defends well and Mibangon ends up having to push Buut into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mibangon tries to pull guard but Buut forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Mibangon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Buut is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mibangon to the mat. Mibangon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Buut in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mibangon is adopting a defensive guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Buut shoots for a double leg takedown but Mibangon sprawls well. He's pushed Buut's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And Mibangon counters with a quick kick to the body but Buut blocks it.

Buut looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Walay Buut has got the better of the ground game so far.
Buut cracks Mibangon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mibangon tries to lock up and control but Buut gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mibangon sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Mibangon wants to control but Buut is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Buut slows the pace down in half guard.

Mibangon wants to get back to full guard.
Well, if Buut is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mibangon is trying to maintain the position but Buut is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mibangon gets caught napping as Buut dives in and scores a takedown. Mibangon manages to retain guard.

Buut controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Buut has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mibangon pulls Buut in close to his closed guard and prevents Buut from doing any damage or advancing position.

Buut feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Minatay Mibangon.
