SSG 208 McCain vs Feet PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 24 wins and 16 losses; John McCain! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 8 losses; Seemah Feet! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Feet will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. McCain darts in and clinches Feet up against the cage. Feet gets underhooks to prevent McCain's takedown attempt.
McCain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Feet pulls his leg out and moves away.
McCain feints and as Feet raises his hands in defense, McCain changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: McCain (2) vs (0) Feet Feet keeping moving, preventing McCain from controlling successfully. Feet looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McCain passes Feet's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Feet told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Feet tries to regain full guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Feet tries to improve his position but McCain has taken his back! McCain has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Feet tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! McCain pushes Feet away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
