The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Makarov is looking to clinch but Majere is avoiding it.

Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Makarov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Majere does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Majere tries to lock up and control but Makarov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Makarov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Majere has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Majere is staying active underneath Makarov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Makarov tries to pass to full mount but Majere defends it.
