Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Abott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balack Rassum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Balack Rassum enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danga de danga de dang - Rassum scores with a four punch combination! Rassum fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rassum drives through with a takedown into guard. Rassum wants to control from the top but Abott keeps moving. Rassum with a flurry of punches that miss. Rassum tries to free his leg and advance position but Abott is retaining full guard. Rassum postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Abott is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rassum, into his guard. Rassum keeping moving, preventing Abott from controlling successfully. Rassum throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abott decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Rassum shoots in and drives through. Abott sprawls well. Some wild striking there from Abott.

and Rassum counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Abott trying to control the position.
Rassum postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Abott is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rassum, into his guard. Rassum looks gassed! Rassum has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abott tries to stand but Rassum is controlling from the bottom. Abott has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rassum had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Abott is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rassum Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Abott's back instead. Abott wants to control his opponent's hands but Rassum gets his hands free. Rassum is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rassum missing with punches from the back. Abott is trying to stand back up. Abott showing good submission defense here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Despite being in a bad position, Abott is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Rassum looking for the choke from the back. Abott trying to get back to his feet but Rassum is in full control for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Balack Rassum dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Abott throws a hook to the side of Rassum's head but Rassum sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Abott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rassum counters with a takedown into side control. Abott struggling a bit here. Rassum wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Abott, who protects the arm well. Abott wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rassum decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Rassum counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Abott! Abott tries to lock up and control but Rassum gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rassum moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Abott has worked his arm free - good work by Abott!
Rassum thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rassum is looking to take a break and control but Abott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rassum working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rassum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abott keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rassum wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Abott, who protects the arm well. The ground and pound from Rassum seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rassum swings around for an armbar but Abott sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rassum's guard. Rassum has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Abott is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rassum. Rassum wants to control but Abott postures up. Balack Rassum has got the better of the ground game so far. Abott decides to take the fight back to the feet. Rassum moves into the clinch. Abott makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Abott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rassum takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Abott fails with the takedown and Rassum counters with a shoot takedown. Abott fights it but they end up in guard. Rassum wants to control from the top but Abott keeps moving. Abott keeping full guard, as Rassum tries to pass. Rassum trying to control the position from guard on top but Abott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Abott avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rassum controls the pace of the fight for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Balack Rassum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Abott falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rassum counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rassum. Rassum looking to sit in guard and control but Abott gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rassum wants to get back to his feet but Abott is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rassum is looking for a triangle but Abott pushes his legs off easily.
Rassum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rassum has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Abott is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rassum. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abott decides to stand back up. Abott throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rassum counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rassum seems to be working for a kimura but Abott defends the submission attempt. Rassum is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rassum is trying to work for a kimura but Abott is defending well.
Rassum wants to stand but Abott has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Rassum seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Abott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rassum misses with a head shot. Abott uses the momentum to regain guard. Rassum tries to free his leg and advance position but Abott is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rassum prevents Abott from getting back to his feet. Rassum with a flurry of punches that miss.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rassum shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Rassum is looking to take a break and control but Abott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rassum seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Abott has recovered full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rassum stops Abott from standing up. Rassum wants to control from the top but Abott keeps moving. Rassum drops back looking for a leg! Abott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Abott manages to kick Rassum off! Rassum jumps back into Abott's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rassum accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that's the end of the fight! Balack Rassum comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Rassum winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
