This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 46 wins and 28 losses; Jackson Ramirez! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 31 wins and 35 losses; Long Wang! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Phil Schofield.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ramirez looks for a takedown but Wang sprawls well. Wang moves into the clinch successfully.

Ramirez has Wang pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wang manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ramirez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Wang is looking for a takedown up against the cage. That's six minutes gone in the round. Ramirez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Ramirez (4) vs (2) Wang Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Wang is keeping the position. Ramirez postures up.
Wang pulls Ramirez in close to prevent any damage. Wang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ramirez is one step ahead there.

Ramirez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Wang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Ramirez controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Wang pulls Ramirez in close to his closed guard and prevents Ramirez from doing any damage or advancing position. Wang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ramirez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wang is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Ramirez is adopting a defensive guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramirez is on top in guard.

In defeat, Long Wang stepped up to the mic, saying 'No worries. Everyone here knows my opponent has a bad habit of testing positive for PEDs, so I'm sure this fight will soon be ruled a 'No Contest' by the Athletic Commission.'. |
