Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Case (ranked 1624 p4p, 1395 weight class) and Ricky Alvarez (ranked 213 p4p, 184 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ricky Alvarez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez lands a glancing blow to the side of Case's head.
Alvarez misses with an uppercut. Case saw that one coming.
Case appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Case is defended easily by Alvarez.

Alvarez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Alvarez is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Case had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Case moves forwards but Alvarez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Alvarez throws a lazy right hand but Case sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nice defenses there by Case.
Case shoots in looking for a takedown but Alvarez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Case's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Case changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Case postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Alvarez tries to bench press Case off him but Case keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Alvarez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alvarez is trying to buck Case off.
Case wants to control but Alvarez is keeping him busy.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Case counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Case is taking a breather. Alvarez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Case wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alvarez keeps working.

I would just about give that final round to Ricky Alvarez.
