PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Christie (ranked 1403 p4p, 1732 weight class) and Pultti Pyssy (ranked 98 p4p, 208 weight class). Christie kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Amityville. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pyssy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pyssy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Christie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steven Christie.
I think Christie has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Pultti Pyssy was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Steven Christie spoke after the fight, saying 'Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm making a voodoo doll, thinking of you.'.
