Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deanthony Pederson (ranked 533 p4p, 842 weight class) and Lloyd Blue (ranked 69 p4p, 105 weight class). Blue is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: HonestKey- When I Wake Up. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deanthony Pederson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lloyd Blue! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Blue. Pederson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Pederson misses with a body shot.
Pederson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pederson is putting a hurting on Blue here, landing some big shots from side control. Pederson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Blue is trying to improve his position. Blue dodges the ground and pound from Pederson. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pederson controlling the position from side mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blue is trying to get back to half guard. The strikes coming from Pederson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pederson wants to control but Blue is keeping him busy. Pederson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blue is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. A bit of a lull in the action here. Pederson staying calm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pederson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pederson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Pederson trying to control the action but Blue is working from the bottom. Pederson misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Pederson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blue takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Pederson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pederson working the ground and pound. Pederson is staying tight to Blue's torso, preventing him from escaping. Blue takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Blue takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Pederson scores with a couple of short elbows. Blue seems a little lost for a moment, as Pederson dominates the positioning. Pederson throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pederson controlling the position from side mount. You can see the frustration on Blue's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pederson misses with the ground and pound. Pederson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Blue has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pederson but great work by Blue. Pederson is looking for a sweep. Blue is looking to take a break and control but Pederson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Pederson struggling a bit here. Pederson stops Blue from passing to mount. Pederson can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pederson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Pederson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Blue stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Nice shot lands for Blue. Pederson digs a good hook to Blue's body.
Lloyd Blue is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Blue with the inside leg kick. Blue takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pederson moves away from the strike by Blue. A slapping body kick lands there for Blue. Pederson shoots in but no luck this time. Blue slaps away a takedown attempt from Pederson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Pederson misses the target. Blue pushes Pederson away with a front kick. Pederson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blue manages to avoid it. A big left from Pederson misses. Pederson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blue moves away. Pederson moves out of range of the leg kick from Blue. Blue moves out of range of the strikes. Pederson shoots in but Blue avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deanthony Pederson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pederson lands a nice shot that snaps Blue's head back.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Blue connects with an inside leg kick. Pederson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Pederson staying out of range there. Both fighters circling a little - Blue finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Blue misses with a kick to the body.
Blue throws a low kick but Pederson avoids it. Blue throws a leg kick but Pederson moved away. Blue with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pederson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Blue lands with a cross. Pederson lands a jab to Blue's midsection. Pederson shoots in and drives through. Blue sprawls well.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Blue misses with an uppercut. Pederson saw that one coming. Blue stuffs the takedown attempt from Pederson. Pederson gets slowly back to his feet. Blue uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pederson.
A little jabbing left from Blue on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Blue misses with a body kick. Pederson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Blue tries a quick counter leg kick but Pederson is wise to it. Blue throws a sloppy head kick and Pederson moves out of range easily. Blue throws a leg kick but Pederson sees it coming and moves out of range. Blue throws a big shot that misses. Pederson looks to land a left hand but Blue moved out of range nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nice takedown defense from Blue. No joy for Pederson on that attempt. Blue tests Pederson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Pederson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Blue uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pederson.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Pederson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Blue sees it coming and avoids it easily. A big left from Blue misses. Pederson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Blue looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Blue misses with a left hand and Pederson counters with a single leg into guard. Blue didn't expect that. Blue keeping moving, preventing Pederson from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pederson scoring with some ground and pound. Blue looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Pederson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pederson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pederson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pederson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blue swivels though and keeps the full guard. Blue controls Pederson momentarily but Pederson frees himself. Blue keeping full guard, as Pederson tries to pass. Pederson is working hard here to advance position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A looping hook to the body misses from Pederson. Blue does a little dance to reset his feet. Blue is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pederson. Blue cracks Pederson with a good jab. Pederson missing with a left hand there. Blue was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

A countering left hand to the body from Blue misses. Blue throws a lazy body kick and Pederson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pederson is pushing down on Blue's leg trying to pass to half guard. Blue is fighting to maintain full guard but Pederson has managed to sneak the leg through. Blue won't allow Pederson to pass to mount. Pederson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Pederson breaks from Blue's wrist control and lands an elbow. Blue tries to get back to half guard but can't. Pederson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Pederson content just to control the position here. Pederson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Blue really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pederson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pederson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Blue has worked his arm free - good work by Blue!
Pederson advances to full mount. Pederson looking to control but Blue is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blue is trying desperately to improve position. Pederson avoids the attempt from Blue to control.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Blue is squirming around, avoiding Pederson's attempts to control the action. Blue is looking to get to half guard. Blue felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Blue in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Blue regains half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Pederson wants to free his trapped foot but Blue is holding on for dear life with his legs. Blue avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pederson. Pederson trying to pass the guard but Blue defending well. Pederson is thwarting Blue's attempts to control the position.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Pederson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pederson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blue keeps working. Pederson trying to mount his opponent but Blue defends it. Pederson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Blue keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pederson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Blue wants to control but Pederson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Pederson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blue as he avoids it easily.

Pederson swings and misses with a shot to the body and Blue counters with a nice uppercut. Pederson throws an overhand right that lands on Blue's shoulder, as Blue tries to avoid the shot. Pederson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blue manages to avoid it. A shot to the liver by Pederson. Beautiful body shot. A momentary lapse in concentration from Blue enables Pederson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blue manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Blue controlling the position. Pederson trying to control the position from guard on top but Blue is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blue pulls Pederson in close to prevent any damage. Blue is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Deanthony Pederson dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Pederson has his takedown stuffed and Blue counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Blue looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Blue gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Pederson has gone for a leg lock! Blue slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pederson's guard. Blue has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pederson is proving hard to escape from. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Pederson is looking to wear down Blue with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Blue tries to work over Pederson's front leg with a kick but Pederson checks it. Blue avoids the body shot from Pederson.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pederson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blue is fending him off so far but Pederson persists. Nope, Blue circles away and we're back to standing. Blue throws a good cross that connects.

A telegraphed right hand from Blue misses the target. Pederson appears to be looking for a counter takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pederson digs a good body shot into Blue's ribs. Pederson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Pederson shoots in for a takedown but Blue shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Lloyd Blue comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Blue has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The fight is ruled a draw! Deanthony Pederson retains his title. It's always disappointing when a championship fight ends as a draw but that's what happens when you leave the fight in the judges hands!
