Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havulehto misses with a few strikes there.
Horrible takedown by Pesu or perhaps it was just good defense by Havulehto which made him look bad.
Pesu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Havulehto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Pesu advances to mount.
Pesu throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Pesu throws some wild stikes that Havulehto manages to avoid easily.
Pesu goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Havulehto is on top in guard.

Havulehto wants to stand but Pesu is controlling his posture from full guard.
Pesu looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Havulehto passes into side control.
Pesu avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Havulehto.

Havulehto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pesu is surviving well by controlling Havulehto's body position as best he can.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Havulehto doesn't have the hooks in and Pesu manages to turn into his guard.

Pesu looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pesu throwing strikes but Havulehto manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Havulehto has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Havulehto tries to clinch but Pesu is having none of it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Havulehto.
Pesu shoots in looking for a takedown. Havulehto tries to sprawl out of it but Pesu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Havulehto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Havulehto throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Havulehto stalks Pesu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pesu's face. Pesu staggers backwards, shaken.
Pesu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Havulehto drops back looking for a leg! Pesu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pesu manages to kick Havulehto off! Havulehto jumps back into Pesu's guard.

Havulehto looking to sit in guard and control but Pesu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pesu tries to free his leg and advance position but Havulehto is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Pesu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Paavo Pesu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Havulehto thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pesu if he has to take too many more of those.
Pesu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pesu throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Havulehto escapes and throws Pesu's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Havulehto is looking to take a break and control but Pesu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pesu is doing well to control the position and prevent Havulehto from advancing to side control.
Havulehto is keen to just control but Pesu is a slippery customer.
Havulehto is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pesu is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pesu shoots for a takedown but Havulehto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Pesu decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Havulehto's guard.
Pesu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Havulehto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pesu wants to control from the top but Havulehto keeps moving.
Havulehto is trying to control the position but Pesu postures up.

Paavo Pesu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pesu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
