Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernie Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Hernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandes has chosen IRA - Ikar as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ernie Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Vitor Hernandes!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason throws a push kick but Hernandes slaps the foot to one side.
Hernandes fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mason is out of range.
Mason looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hernandes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mason but Mason pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hernandes throws a solid leg kick but Mason takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hernandes.

Mason gets the takedown into side control.
Hernandes is looking to regain half guard here but Mason keeps moving and retains side control.

Mason connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Hernandes to the floor! Mason dives in looking for the finish!

Mason has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hernandes seems to have recovered his senses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, if Mason is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mason seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hernandes for as long as he can get away with.

Hernandes wants to control but Mason is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ernie Mason just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Mason doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Ernie Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crunch! Hernandes slams his shin into Mason's torso.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hernandes.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hernandes. Mason shrugs it off though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hernandes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mason looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mason takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mason stuffs the takedown attempt from Hernandes. Hernandes gets slowly back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Mason or perhaps it was just good defense by Hernandes which made him look bad.

Mason throws a sloppy head kick and Hernandes moves out of range easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mason stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hernandes.
Mason changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hernandes tries to avoid it but Mason manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hernandes to the ground. Hernandes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hernandes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hernandes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mason!
Hernandes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Mason looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hernandes thumps Mason with a low kick.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Hernandes tries to close the distance and clinch but Mason swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hernandes shoots in and bounces Mason off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mason bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hernandes's guard.

Ernie Mason overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Vitor Hernandes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hernandes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
