Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justice McManus (ranked 3250 p4p, 4105 weight class) and Lance Thorn (ranked 412 p4p, 481 weight class). McManus's entrance music is Pat Murphy of the Irish Brigade. A fine choice. Justice McManus has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justice McManus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Thorn! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McManus ducks under a wild hook from Thorn. McManus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thorn. McManus appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. A combination from Thorn does no damage. Thorn scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Justice McManus has been cut. Thorn misses with an uppercut
and McManus counters with an inside leg kick. Thorn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McManus counters with an outside leg kick.
McManus tries to clinch there but Thorn circles away.
McManus staying out of range there. Thorn takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Thorn throws a hook but McManus blocks it. Oooooh!!! Thorn has knocked McManus down with a huge combo! Thorn steps away and waves a wobbly McManus back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McManus displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thorn throws out the jab. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from McManus. Thorn shrugs it off though. Thorn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McManus counters with a body kick that stops Thorn in his tracks momentarily. Thorn swings widly with a right hand
and McManus counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Lance Thorn has been cut. Thorn misses with a series of wild punches.
McManus is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Thorn.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorn throws a series of punches but McManus avoids them all with ease. McManus seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Thorn throws a combination that misses and McManus counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Thorn swings widly with a right hand
and McManus counters with a leg kick. Thorn looks winded! A slow jab from Thorn misses its intended target. McManus slips under a jab from Thorn. Thorn might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Thorn throws a series of punches but McManus avoids them all with ease. McManus moves out of range as Thorn strikes. McManus moves into the clinch. Thorn is looking to break free of the clinch but McManus has double underhooks. Thorn looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Thorn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. McManus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorn tries to bum rush McManus with a series of wild strikes but McManus uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A swing and a miss from Thorn. McManus dodges the punch combination from Thorn.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thorn throws an overhand right that lands on McManus's shoulder, as McManus tries to avoid the shot. McManus seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Lance Thorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thorn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McManus counters by moving into the clinch. McManus breaks the clinch.
McManus clinches with his opponent.
McManus is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. I was talking to McManus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. McManus throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Thorn blocks it with crossed arms. McManus fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
McManus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thorn's elbow. McManus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorn scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Thorn pushing out the jab but it's not landing. McManus is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Thorn. McManus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thorn. Thorn getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Thorn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thorn cracks McManus with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! McManus falls to his knees and Thorn doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lance Thorn!
