Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mitsu Misawa (ranked 738 p4p, 973 weight class) and Lou Valentine (ranked 103 p4p, 133 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mitsu Misawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lou Valentine! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Misawa checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Valentine avoids the body shot from Misawa.
Valentine is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Misawa with a body shot. Valentine uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Misawa. Misawa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valentine circles away quickly and effectively. Valentine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Misawa.
A countering left hand to the body from Valentine misses. Misawa scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Misawa lands a glancing blow to the side of Valentine's head. Valentine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Misawa. Misawa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Valentine looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Misawa connects with a crisp jab. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Valentine has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. A lazy left from Misawa finds it's target. Misawa takes a swing at Valentine's ribcage but misses. This has been an exciting period of action! Misawa wants to clinch and Valentine counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Misawa 's head but he takes it in his stride. Valentine clinches up against the cage. Valentine tries to throw a body punch but Misawa avoids it by throwing Valentine back against the cage. Valentine gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Misawa has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Valentine off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Misawa looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Valentine has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Misawa finds it's way round the side to connect with Valentine's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Misawa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Valentine avoids the body shot from Misawa.
Misawa misses with a right hand and Valentine counters with a crisp one two that drops Misawa! Valentine thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Misawa to his feet! Misawa is in big trouble! Misawa takes the fight into the clinch. A short uppercut from Misawa. Valentine lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Misawa is rocked! Misawa blocking some punches.
Oh Misawa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Misawa blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Valentine misses with a short punch on the inside. Valentine turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Valentine manages to end up in side control. Misawa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Valentine working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valentine scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Misawa is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Valentine can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
