Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Joe Smith! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Clark! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clark fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Nice defenses there by Clark. Clark looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Smith takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Clark throws a poor cross that misses
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Clark scores with a crisp jab that stopped Smith in his tracks. Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it. It seemed like Clark was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Smith avoids the body shot from Clark.
Clark swings and misses with a shot to the body and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Smith throws a shot from downtown. Clark moves away and avoids it. Clark takes one on the chin but seems OK.
 Clark is rocked!
 It looks like Matthew Clark has been cut. Smith misses with a hook. Clark is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him? Clark swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Smith throws a big shot that misses. Matthew Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The fighters circling - Clark throws out the jab but it was never going to land. We've been told by Smith's head coaches at Hammer House of Horror that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Smith misses with a straight left. Clark keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Clark takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses. Smith drops Clark with a big left hand! Clark is injured, injured bad! Smith jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Joe Smith! John Joe Smith retains his bantamweight title!
