Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Van Ines (ranked 5326 p4p, 24591 weight class) and Flash Spooner (ranked 361 p4p, 382 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Van Ines! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Flash Spooner! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ines connects with the punch. Ines throws a sloppy body shot
and Spooner counters with a flying knee. Nice. Spooner lands a big head kick that sends Ines tumbling to the mat! Spooner takes a step backwards and waves Ines back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Ines is rocked! Ines throws the left hand but Spooner avoids the punch easily. Oh Ines is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ines throws a good cross that connects.
Ines throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ines misses with a looping right. Spooner throws a fast counter high kick but Ines manages to duck under it in time. Ines seems to have got his legs back now. The fight stays on the outside here - Spooner looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Spooner blocks a head kick by Ines.
Ines looks for the body kick but Spooner saw that one coming. Spooner looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Spooner avoids the body shot from Ines.
Ines closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ines controlling the position. Spooner is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ines asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ines misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Spooner tries to escape but Ines is in control. Ines controlling the position. Ines lands a nice forearm strike. Ines sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Spooner is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Ines misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ines controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ines working the ground and pound from side control. Spooner is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Spooner is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spooner avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ines. An elbow from Ines crashes against the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spooner is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. Spooner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. We've been hearing good reports from Ines's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Ines has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ines happy to just control the position for now. Spooner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ines. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ines scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Spooner to see if he's OK.

Ines is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Spooner's shoulder. That is not cool. Spooner is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ines has just dragged him back down to the mat. Ines is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Spooner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ines throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Spooner wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ines in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Ines controlling the position from side mount. Ines misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Ines lands some shots froms side control. Spooner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Ines throwing shots but missing, from side control. Ines working the head and body with strikes. Spooner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Spooner is letting Ines control him for a moment. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Van Ines dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! A shot to the body from Ines misses and Spooner counters with a big head kick but Ines shrugs it off. Spooner tries to clinch up. Spooner moves out of range of the leg kick from Ines. Spooner throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ines sees it coming and avoids it easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Ines. Spooner does a little dance to reset his feet. Ines looks to throw the jab but Spooner is out of range. Ines looks to throw the jab but Spooner is out of range. Ines throws a body punch but Spooner moves out of range. A jab from Ines finds it's way through Spooner's defenses. Spooner plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spooner misses with a head kick.
Ines throws an overhand right that lands on Spooner's shoulder, as Spooner tries to avoid the shot. Spooner throws a counter combo. Ines looks to score with a jab to the body but Spooner is just out of range. Ines darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spooner throws a sloppy head kick and Ines moves out of range easily. Ines fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Spooner on the side of the head. Ines misses with a body shot.
Ines fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spooner sprawls well initially but Ines persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Spooner wants to get back to his feet. Ines has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Spooner defend it? Ines steps over the head and cranks it - Spooner is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Ines!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Van Ines!
