Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phil St. Georges (ranked 23074 p4p, 6010 weight class) and Fyodor Pending (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pending has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St. Georges fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pending to the ground. St. Georges is now in Pending's guard. Pending looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! St. Georges sitting in guard, not really doing much. St. Georges has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St. Georges advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. St. Georges content to control rather than advance. St. Georges's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Further stalling from St. Georges. This is a sustained period of stalling by St. Georges. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because St. Georges is stinking the place up with his stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. St. Georges is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Pending is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Phil St. Georges! A very excited looking Phil St. Georges made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
