Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vu Viet Hu (ranked 2244 p4p, 2393 weight class) and Lito Alcala (ranked 157 p4p, 168 weight class). Alcala is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: MORTAL KOMBAT. Vu Viet Hu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vu Viet Hu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 41 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lito Alcala! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alcala turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Alcala lands a nice hook to Hu's body. Hu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hu shoots in looking for a takedown. Alcala tries to sprawl out of it but Hu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alcala manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Alcala lands a nice looking body shot.
Hu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hu shoots in and drives through. Alcala sprawls well. Hu shoots in and gets a takedown into Alcala's guard. Hu controls the pace of the fight for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hu trying to control but Alcala is working from the bottom. Alcala is looking to stand up but Hu isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alcala is keeping the position for now. Hu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hu content to stall in guard here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Alcala throws a good cross that connects.
Alcala connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Alcala waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hu. Hu fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alcala feints a counter leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vu Viet Hu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Alcala wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hu sitting in guard here, content to control. Alcala keeping full guard, as Hu tries to pass. Alcala can't keep his opponent in guard - Hu advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alcala defends it well. Hu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alcala keeps working. Hu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alcala has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hu in particular looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Alcala does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Alcala trying to hold on to Hu's head to control him but Hu postures up.
Hu is looking for a kimura here.
Hu wants to pass to mount but Alcala is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hu passes the guard and advances to mount! Hu moves to take his opponent's back. Hu is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Alcala knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Alcala for a finish. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hu working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vu Viet Hu dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Hu shoots for a takedown but Alcala saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hu is trying to work for a kimura but Alcala is defending well.
Hu is figuring out what he wants to do next. Hu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alcala is just riding it out for now. Hu eventually gives up the hold. Hu uses his free foot to push down on Alcala's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alcala. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alcala is squirming around, avoiding Hu's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alcala can't escape the position.
Hu controlling from mount. Hu is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Alcala can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hu tries to control but Alcala wriggling away. Hu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hu working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Alcala looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Hu! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Vu Viet Hu! Vu Viet Hu gave a mention to Furnace Performance 🔥 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales). Lito Alcala was interviewed post fight and said 'Free Hong Kong And Screw China'.
