PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyung Ho Kang (ranked 3595 p4p, 5300 weight class) and Adler Trapnell (ranked 237 p4p, 304 weight class). Kang comes to the cage accompanied by Better Than Yesterday . The key to victory for Kyung Ho Kang has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyung Ho Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adler Trapnell!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kang moves into the clinch.
Kang goes for a takedown in the clinch but Trapnell prevents it.
Kang is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Trapnell pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Trapnell has Kang pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kang manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Trapnell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Trapnell tries for a takedown but Kang circles away easily
and Kang counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Adler Trapnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kang on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kang throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Trapnell on the side of the head.
Trapnell tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Kang counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trapnell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kang to the ground. Trapnell is now in Kang's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kang looking for a guillotine here but Trapnell defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kang working for a triangle but Trapnell defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trapnell wants to pass the guard but Kang is keeping the position.

Kang is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Trapnell rolls with it to try and escape but Kang cranks on the arm and Trapnell is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kyung Ho Kang!
A relieved looking Kyung Ho Kang thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
