PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexo Mansogo (ranked 2948 p4p, 4210 weight class) and Thang Tung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tung avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tung keeps the fight on the outside.
Mansogo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tung's waist but Tung gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mansogo off to one side.
Mansogo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mansogo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tung swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tung shoots in but Mansogo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mansogo tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Tung manages to circle out of the way.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mansogo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Tung has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mansogo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Tung's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Tung decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mansogo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tung quickly recovers to half guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mansogo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tung sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mansogo somewhat.

Mansogo is fighting to break Tung's control of his arms but Tung is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Tung working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mansogo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mansogo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mansogo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tung is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mansogo is looking for a sweep. Tung is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tung is working for a kimura but Mansogo is defending it quite comfortably.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looked like Mansogo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Mansogo dives in and grabs Tung's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tung pushes down on Mansogo's head and hops out.

Mansogo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tung looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tung looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tung!

Thang Tung comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tung has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
