Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Mongoose (ranked 4352 p4p, 4170 weight class) and Deon Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Mongoose counters with a nice double leg into side control. Graves won't be happy with that.
Graves is trying to get back to half guard.
Mongoose is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Graves will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Mongoose has knee on belly momentarily but Graves bucks him off and regains half guard.
Mongoose content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Graves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mongoose doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mongoose manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Graves throws a series of punches but Mongoose avoids them all with ease.

Graves throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mongoose escapes and throws Graves's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mongoose works to advance to full mount. Graves defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Graves tries to lock up and control but Mongoose gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mongoose fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Mongoose is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Graves in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Graves is just holding on here. Mongoose manages to take his back.

Mongoose cracks Graves with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Graves from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Mongoose throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Mongoose is looking for the choke from the back position but Graves is controlling his hands well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Mongoose wants to clinch up but Graves keeps it at a distance.
As Mongoose backs off Graves throws a huge counter combo but Mongoose manages to avoid it all.
Mongoose takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Graves throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Graves lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Graves.
Deon Graves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The Mongoose is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Graves throws a right hand that Mongoose ducks under and follows up with a left that Mongoose also avoids with ease.
Deon Graves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mongoose.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Graves manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mongoose's guard. Nice work there by Graves.

Mongoose has his foot on Graves's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Graves works his way back into a safe position though.

Graves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mongoose swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mongoose is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Graves can do to turn this around?
