Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Olivier Dujardin (ranked 373 p4p, 1995 weight class) and Ian Carter (ranked 54 p4p, 271 weight class). Dujardin comes to the cage accompanied by Sosa by Leto & Guy2bezbar. Carter comes into a darkened arena with his song building. “Shipping up to Boston” Dropkick Murphy’s kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ian Carter has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Olivier Dujardin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Carter! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A decent looking cross lands there for Dujardin. Carter slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Carter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Carter moves out of range of the strikes. Dujardin misses with a looping left. It seemed like Carter was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Carter throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Dujardin to counter with a crisp jab. The fighters circling - Carter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A little feinted left hand from Dujardin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Dujardin cracks Carter with a good jab. Carter defending well as Dujardin loads up on a big left hand. Dujardin misses with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dujardin cracks Carter with a right hand to the side of the head. Carter misses with a combination
and Carter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Carter looks to land a right hand but Dujardin moved out of range.

It looks like Olivier Dujardin has been cut. Dujardin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carter. Carter throws a leg kick which misses Dujardin's front leg but catches the back leg as Dujardin tries to avoid it. Carter misses with the combination.

and Carter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dujardin thinking. Dujardin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away. Dujardin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Carter motions for Dujardin to come forward. Carter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Olivier Dujardin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carter walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Carter darts in and clinches Dujardin up against the cage. Carter goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Dujardin tries to score a body lock takedown but Carter shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A head punch blocked on the inside by Dujardin. Dujardin has Carter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olivier Dujardin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter lands with a right to the head. Dujardin misses with a hook to the ribs.

Carter tries to close the distance and clinch but Dujardin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dujardin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carter defends well and Dujardin ends up having to push Carter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dujardin circles away quickly and effectively. Oh Dujardin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Carter takes a swing at Dujardin's ribcage but misses. A punch combination from Carter misses. Dujardin seems to have got his legs back now. Carter misses with the combination.
Dujardin appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dujardin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Carter on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Dujardin looks to throw the jab but Carter is out of range. Dujardin lands a lovely overhand right. Carter falls off balance throwing a combination

The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Carter lands with a nice body punch. Olivier Dujardin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dujardin throws a jab but it's blocked by Carter. Carter feints a counter leg kick. Carter lands with a straight right. Dujardin didn't see that one coming.
Olivier Dujardin's cut is getting worse. Carter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dujardin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dujardin throws out the jab. Carter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Carter moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dujardin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carter.
Dujardin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carter sprawls well. Carter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dujardin gets slowly back to his feet.

Boom. That sent Dujardin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Dujardin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Carter takes the fight into the clinch. Carter working aggressively here.
Carter has had enough of the clinch but Dujardin keeps him there for the moment. Dujardin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carter gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We're back to striking at a distance. Dujardin cracks Carter with a good jab. Carter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dujardin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carter throws a body shot but no joy. Good standup being displayed there by Carter as he connects with a hook. Dujardin shoots in for a double leg but Carter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Carter thuds a left hand into Dujardin's body. Dujardin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dujardin misses the shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Carter. Dujardin does a little dance to reset his feet. Dujardin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Dujardin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Carter's hands. A slow jab from Dujardin misses its intended target. Carter slips under a jab. Dujardin throws out a loose jab but Carter uses good head movement to avoid it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carter misses with a two punch combination.
It looked like Dujardin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Dujardin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ian Carter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Carter throws a leg kick but Dujardin checks it.
And that's the end of the fight! Ian Carter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Carter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
