Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hobert Nye (ranked 1471 p4p, 3351 weight class) and James Spinner (ranked 180 p4p, 375 weight class). James Spinner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hobert Nye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Spinner! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spinner looks to land a combination but Nye avoids it well. Nye fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spinner manages to avoid it. Nye tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spinner was well out of range. Poor timing from Nye. Spinner looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. We've been told by Nye's head coaches at Tappelukerho that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Nye lands a nice hook to Spinner's body. Spinner takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Spinner rushes Nye and presses him up against the cage. Nye misses with some punches.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Spinner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Spinner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A punch combination from Nye misses. Spinner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nye eats them both and turns towards Spinner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Spinner thows a left - swing and a miss! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nye lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spinner circles away quickly and effectively. Spinner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Spinner lands with a nice body punch. A big right from Nye misses. Spinner is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Nye with a body shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Nye. Spinner does a little dance to reset his feet.

Nye lands a good knee to the midsection. Spinner won't want to take too many of those. Nye tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Spinner blocks an elbow strike from Nye.
The referee is keeping an eye on Nye - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

 It looks like James Spinner has been cut. Nye dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Nye lands a body shot. Spinner wants to break free. Nye pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Spinner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Spinner wants to clinch but Nye slips to the side and Nye counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Nye closes the distance and pushes Spinner back into the cage. Spinner can't break the clinch.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Nye will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Spinner up against the cage. Nye displaying some good clinch control by pressing Spinner up against the cage. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Nye for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Spinner looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Spinner blocks a body shot from Nye. Spinner tries to break free but Nye pushes him back against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Nye creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Nye keeps control of Spinner as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nye throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Spinner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nye lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spinner circles away quickly and effectively. Nye blocks a head kick by Spinner.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nye tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spinner was well out of range. Poor timing from Nye. Nye misses the shot to the body. Spinner lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Spinner. Spinner swings for the body but Nye moves out of range.

Spinner throws a series of punches but Nye avoids them all with ease. Nye was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Spinner tries to bum rush Nye with a series of wild strikes but Nye uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nye fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spinner manages to avoid it. Nye is looking to wear down Spinner with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Nye takes a swing at Spinner's ribcage but misses. Nye steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spinner. Nye with the inside leg kick. Nye misses with a jab, cross combination.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nye perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Nye seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Spinner for as long as he can get away with. Nye has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Nye wants to free his trapped foot but Spinner is holding on for dear life with his legs. Nye perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Nye tries to throw a body punch but Spinner avoids it by throwing Nye back against the cage. Nye lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Nye dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nye fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spinner manages to avoid it. Nye pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nye keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nye is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Nye lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. This has been an exciting period of action!

Spinner is still on wobbly legs! Can Nye finish him? Nye steps in with a hook that catches Spinner right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Nye follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Spinner looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hobert Nye! A relieved looking Hobert Nye thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. James Spinner spoke after the fight, saying 'This loss doesn't define me. I'm a bad mofo no matter what. Come at me bro. '.
