Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vasco Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Trane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vasco Sousa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sebastian Trane!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa swats away the attempt to clinch by Trane.

Sousa gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sousa creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Trane's defenses.
Sousa tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Sousa pressing his opponent against the cage.
Trane landing knees to the body.

Sousa breaks the clinch.
Trane is looking to score with low kicks.
Sousa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Trane manages to avoid it.

Sousa rushes Trane and presses him up against the cage.

Sousa manages to break the clinch.

Sousa darts in and clinches Trane up against the cage.
Trane tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Trane stalling in the clinch but Sousa improves position.
Sousa tries to break the clinch but Trane is controlling the position.

Trane ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Trane no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Trane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sousa is one step ahead there.
Sousa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Sousa controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Trane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trane has his foot on Sousa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sousa works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Trane keeping moving, preventing Sousa from controlling successfully.
Sousa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sousa gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Trane wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Sousa is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Trane wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sousa.
Sousa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Trane is looking to escape.

Trane wants to control but Sousa is having none of it.

Sousa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Trane has worked his arm free - good work by Trane!

Sousa throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Trane wants to clinch

and Sousa counters with a single leg into guard. Trane didn't expect that.

Trane has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sousa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sousa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Trane fails to pull guard.

Sousa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sousa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trane's guard.

Trane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sousa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Trane is breathing heavily.
Sousa trying to control the position from guard on top but Trane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sousa sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Sousa thows a big elbow that misses.
Trane controls Sousa momentarily but Sousa frees himself.
Trane manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sousa sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Sousa gets full guard.
Sousa pulls Trane in to control the position.
Sousa's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Trane connects with a solid leg kick.

Sousa gets the takedown into side control.
Trane takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Sousa controls the position.
Sousa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Trane keeps working.

Sousa stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sousa gets a clinch.
Trane lands a nice knee to the body.
Trane throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sousa is struggling to control the position.

Sousa breaks the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sousa avoids the head kick by Trane.
Trane tries to clinch there but Sousa circles away.
Sousa avoids a kick to the body.
Sousa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Sousa throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Sousa tries to control but Trane wriggling away.
Trane wants to control but Sousa is having none of it.

Sousa lands a big shot there that rocks Trane but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Sousa cracks Trane with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Sousa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Trane is now in Sousa's guard. A big mistake from Sousa there, giving up the dominant position!

Well Sousa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
