This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 5 losses; Leonard Howell! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 4 losses; Luis Marrero! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Marrero darts in and clinches Howell up against the cage. Howell is looking for a takedown. Marrero looking for a takedown. Marrero goes for a takedown attempt but Howell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Howell gets a clinch. Howell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Marrero has Howell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Howell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Leonard Howell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Marrero. Marrero tightens his grip and picks Howell up, before dumping him to the ground. Howell manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Howell (0) vs (2) Marrero Howell is looking to cinch up a triangle. Marrero throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Howell's body to avoid the submission. Howell has instead reached around Marrero's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Howell arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
