Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitchell Lamb (ranked 3389 p4p, 4231 weight class) and Bart Metzelder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell Lamb has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mitchell Lamb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bart Metzelder! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Metzelder fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lamb looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Metzelder scores with a jab. Good standup being displayed there by Metzelder as he connects with a hook. Metzelder lands with a hook. Lamb tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Lamb takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Metzelder connects with a body shot that sends Lamb's belly button to the back. Lamb looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Metzelder is fending him off so far but Lamb persists. Nope, Metzelder circles away and we're back to standing. Lamb drives through with a takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Lamb stops Metzelder from standing up. Lamb controls from within his opponent's guard. Lamb wants to stand but Metzelder is controlling his posture from full guard. Lamb trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lamb won't allow Metzelder to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Metzelder working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lamb. Metzelder has momentary wrist control but Lamb slips an elbow through the middle. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Metzelder can do anything to dispel that myth. Metzelder has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Lamb is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Lamb takes a shot to the head. A frustrated look appears on Metzelder's face as he tries to break the clinch. Metzelder wants to break the clinch but can't.
Metzelder prevents the takedown attempt.
Metzelder lands a shoulder strike. Metzelder is looking to break free of the clinch but Lamb has double underhooks. Metzelder lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lamb backwards. Metzelder stops a takedown attempt from Lamb.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitchell Lamb. That's going to take a lot out of him. Metzelder is pressed up against the cage. Lamb has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Metzelder down to the mat. Metzelder avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nice shot by Metzelder. Metzelder scores with a hook to the body. Lamb takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Metzelder scores with a jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Metzelder lands a jab to the nose. Metzelder scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Metzelder lands a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lamb shoots in and bounces Metzelder off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Lamb is in close to Metzelder's body, working some short punches and elbows. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Lamb is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lamb trying to control the position from guard on top but Metzelder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lamb thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lamb content to stall in guard here. Lamb connects with a couple of short punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamb advances to half guard. Metzelder tries to kick Lamb off but Lamb keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Lamb is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Metzelder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lamb. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lamb lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nice strikes from Lamb there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lamb working Metzelder over with strikes. Lamb working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Lamb in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Metzelder tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lamb!
