The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Nickal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pavlov. Nickal changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Pavlov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nickal did well to prevent Pavlov getting side control.
