Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donato Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Johnson's choice of entrance music: Boom - Hed PE. Donato Russo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donato Russo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buddy Johnson! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Johnson wants to clinch. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Russo fails with the takedown. Johnson is looking to clinch. Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Russo circles away.
Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson.
It looks like Donato Russo has been cut. No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Russo swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. Johnson is looking to clinch. Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
Russo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Russo won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet. Johnson working for a triangle but Russo defends it easily.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Russo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Russo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Russo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Johnson is looking to stand up but Russo isn't so interested in that idea. Johnson looks gassed! Russo pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Russo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Russo in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Johnson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Russo!
